Stages West is a famous retailer of Western apparel as well as a shopping destination in the popular Pigeon Forge, TN area. With slower growth in brick and mortar, they shifted focus to their successful e-commerce business in 2019.
THE CHALLENGE
Grow SEO sales and relevant traffic in a business that relies on other brands for goods to sell and has no exclusive products or pricing breaks.
STRATEGY
As with any retailer that does not manufacture its own products, Stages West would need to outshine all other ecommerce stores selling the same products in search. So that’s where we began — with unique, well-crafted, optimized product descriptions for PDPs in the top categories to avoid duplicate content issues with competitors. Follow that with expanded PLP content and a well-structured keyword strategy, and we began to see results in just the first couple of months.
After focusing on on-site SEO, we moved quickly into content marketing in an effort to build authority for the brand. With a steady stream of high-quality, user-centric content that was built around keyword goals, we saw nearly instant results in informational SEO sessions and rankings in important business driving keywords in the cowboy boots and Western apparel categories. By year two, we were into strong, consistent, triple-digit growth territory.
